For many years deaerators have utilized single cone spray valve technology. This design valve produces a single, thin film, hollow cone spray pattern. While the single cone design has worked well, it falls far short of maximizing water surface area in the spray section of a Deaerator. Approximately 10 years ago, Sterling recognized the short-comings of the single cone valve and set out to develop a new, highly efficient, dual cone design.

After years of research, development and testing, we are excited to introduce a revolutionary spray valve to the Deaerator market. Our new spray valve (US Patent # 5,862,992) utilizes two (2) thin film, hollow spray cones per spray valve assembly. The water surface area is increased by 71% in the spray zone, making this section of the Deaerator much more proficient. And, best of all, no additional space is required in the spray section of the Deaerator. This allows installation of our valve in virtually any competitive model Deaerator in operation.

Results from the dual cone design have been very encouraging. We have seen improvements in dissolved oxygen levels of up to 250% by simply retrofitting deaerators with this new technology.

Our new spray valve is now available and ready for shipment! Customers should consider installing them into their existing deaerators to increase performance and decrease chemical costs. The new spray valve’s bolting pattern is the same as most of our competitors, making retrofit very simple. For designs with a different bolting pattern, we can provide adapters to make the transition.
